Ranking & Matchups

Top 4 Teams:

  • The top 4-ranked teams in each Developmental Madden Division (10U, 12U, and 14U) and Elite Divisions (8U, 10U, 12U, 14U) advance to the playoffs.

  • Matchups:

    • #1 Seed vs #4 Seed

    •  #2 Seed vs #3 Seed

  • Winners advance to the championship game directly following playoff game.

Remaining Teams:

  • All other teams play a non-advancing seeding game:

    • #5 vs #6, #7 vs #8, etc.

Ranking Criteria:

  • Teams are ranked by wins and losses. Ties are broken by point differential.

Game Day

  • Playoffs are held on the final week of the season. Championship games are played the same day following playoff games.

Overtime Rules

Coin Toss:

The home team calls the toss and chooses to start on offense or defense.

Scoring:

  • Each team gets one play:

    • From the 5-yard line for 1 point

    • From the 10-yard line for 2 points

    • The offensive team chooses whether to go for 1 or 2 points.

  • If the first team fails, the second team gets a chance to match or exceed the score.

Interceptions:

  • Interceptions are returnable and worth 2 points.

  • If a team returns an interception for a score during the first or second overtime, the game ends immediately.

Additional Overtime:

In the second overtime, the loser of the coin toss chooses offense or defense.

Both teams must attempt a 2-point conversion from the 10-yard line.

If still tied after two overtimes, the game moves to Sudden Death.

Sudden Death Overtime

  • The ball is placed at the 5-yard line, and teams drive toward midfield.

Each team has one play to advance as far as possible.

  •  The team that gains the most yards wins.

  • If tied, the process is repeated until a winner is determined.

Interceptions in Sudden Death:

  • Any interception that is returned during third overtime ends the game immediately.
